1. CDR Oden opened C.L. Elms Post 9951 meeting IAW the VFW ritual at 11:10 on January 13, 2007 in the conference room of JUSMAGTHAI located at 7 South Sathorn Road in Bangkok, Thailand. Prior to starting our meeting, we presented Certificates of Appreciation to two Thai doctors who have helped us immensely. Comrade Picha gave us some details of their contributions. We also recognized our Post’s women’s group with a certificate for the help they give us.
2. There was a roll call of officers and all were present or properly excused. There were 22 members and two guests attending.
3. There were two applications for annual membership from Mr. William Hanna and Mr. John Funk. After some discussion, Comrade Evers motioned we accept them as Members. Trustee Hudson seconded this, the motion carried and we welcomed these two new Comrades into Post 9951.
4. We gave copies of the minutes of the last meeting to those in attendance.  Trustee Hudson made a motion to approve the minutes, subject to correction, and Trustee Riopel seconded it. The motion carried.
5. Quartermaster Neutzler gave the QM Report for the period 1 through 31 December 2006. Comrade Evers moved to approve the report, subject to audit. Trustee Riopel seconded it and the motion carried.
6. There was one bill presented for collection. The QM requested 2,250 baht as reimbursement for printer ink. SVC Nestle motioned we approve this, Comrade McCarthy seconded it and the motion carried.
7. Service Officer Dyste gave the SO Report.
8. There are no Comrades in Distress.
9. Committee reports are: (a) Membership: Our goal for this year is 236. We currently stand at 230 members for 97.46 %. (b) Bingo: We received $260.75 this period. (c) Buddy Poppies: There were no receipts. (d) POW/MIA: There was no report. (e) Community Activities: There is nothing to report on this topic.  (f)  Independence Day: There is no news.
10. Remembrance of our National Home was at 11:50.
11. Old Business: (a) Comrade Picha updated us on the move to the new Post Home in the JUSMAG Compound. Comrade Evers motioned we approve 50,000 baht to refurbish this room. Trustee Hudson seconded and the motion carried. (b) The QM provided his assessment of the Annual Christmas Party. It was generally agreed that the event was hugely successful and greatly enjoyed by all attendees. (c) The CDR gave us some details about the C of A Meeting which he attended in the Philippines. (d) Comrade Evers motioned we give 30,000 baht to Kaotagrub Pattana School in Sakaeo Province that the CDR is working with. We had previously discussed and disapproved this money. However, after more discussion the Membership voted to donate these funds. (e) We talked about a replacement for Chaplain Pittman who had resigned at the last meeting. Comrade Evers recommended, and we concurred, that we will leave this office unfilled as we will soon have elections for officers for the new VFW Year. Advocate Owens agreed to perform the Chaplain’s duties in the interim.
12. New Business: (a) Comrade McCarthy motioned and QM Neutzler seconded the proposal to give 1,000 baht and a Certificate of Appreciation to the student the Post sponsored in the Voice of Democracy competition. The motion carried. (b) There will be a District V meeting in Udon Thani on January 19 and 20. Comrade Forrester will be the Post’s Delegate. (c) There will be a Thai Veterans’ Day ceremony at Victory Monument on February 3. Attendees should be in place before 07:50. (d) We received a Christmas card and a $50 donation from Comrade Raymond in Texas.
13. Good of the Order: (a) One of our guests won the raffle of a baseball cap and some cash. (b) SO Dyste noted the days of remembrance before our next meeting.
14. CDR Oden closed the meeting at 12:25 IAW the VFW ritual. The next regular meeting of C.L. Elms Post 9951 will be at 11:00 hours on February 10, 2007 in the JUSMAGTHAI conference room.
