1.      Commander Jim Oden ope ned a C. L. Elms Post 9951 regular meeting IAW the VFW ritual at 11:11 on 12 December, 2009 in the Conference Room of JUSMAGTHAI located at 7 South Sathorn Road in Bangkok , Thailand .

2.      There was a roll call of officers and all were present or properly excused. There were 21 members attending.

3.      There was no application for new membership to our Post.

4.      We gave copies of the minutes from the last meeting to those in attendance. Comrade Burt Nestle made a motion to approve the minutes, subject to correction, and Comrade David Neutzler seconded it. The motion carried.

5.      Quartermaster David Neutzler gave the QM Report for the period 1 October through 30 November, 2009. Comrade Burt Nestle moved to approve the report, subject to audit, Comrade William Bear Hudson seconded, and the motion carried. Additional Note: In January the national annual member dues will increase to $20.50.

6.      There was one bill presented by Commander Oden of 25 Baht ($0.76 cents) for reproduction cost of the meeting minutes, Comrade William Bear Hudson motioned to approve payment for the bill, Comrade Art Key seconded; the motion carried.

7.      Service Officer Wayne Harrison gave the SO Report. Additional Note: Wayne is no longer working in the RAO, but will remain the Service Officer for the post.  Comrade William Bear Hudson noted, “Comrade Mike Holmes Service Officer from the Chiang Mai Post gave District training on FMP at the District’s Udon meeting in November. Please seek out Comrade Mike Holmes for any assistance needed for FMP re-imbursement. “Commander Oden stated it is very important that members remember to first register with FMP for any service connected disabilities. 

8.      Comrades in distress: Stan Forrester former post member passed away this month in Las Vegas. Comrade Tom Tom Cowperthwaite is out of the hospital, but is still immobile. Tom Tom is currently at home; Saithip Grandville Apt. # 307, 59 Sukhumvit Soi 56. Comrades are reminded not to send or bring flowers, Tom Tom needs food. Currently he is in good spirits, visitors highly encouraged. Joe Duffy went into Bangkok Hospital for Chemo therapy, he is in and out. Ken Bower’s knee problems required injections of jells for proper cushion support. Jim George’s condition is stable. 

9.      Committee reports are: (a) Membership: Our goal for this year is 265, and we now stand at 268 members for 101.13%. In New Business we will be drawing for three free life memberships. (b) Bingo: No report. (c) Buddy Poppies: Sent some Poppies to Phnom Phen for Veterans Day, gained $111.52. (d) POW/MIA: No report. (e) Community Activities: Art Key gave report. (f) Safety report. Commander Oden, Drive safely.  (h) Independence Day: We’re looking for I- Day Chairman by the next meeting.

10.  Remembrance of our National Home was at 11:39.

11.  Old Business: (a) Commander Oden gave a briefing for the Department’s C of A in the Philippines . (b) Commander Oden reminded members about the Christmas party tonight. (c) Commander Oden reported that the ads are coming in for the convention book. (d) Bear Hudson gave a briefing on the November District meeting in Udon.  New JVC Bob Owens was elected, revised GO will be issued. The next District meeting is scheduled for February, it will be held in Phnom Phen for the first time.  New District Officers will be nominated, please send acceptance letters if not present.

12.  New Business: (a) Ray Papp proposed for the cooties, David Neutzler nominated, Bear Hudson seconded, passed. (b) Drawing for three life memberships; winners are:  Glenn Evans, Wajra Machann, and Jerry Owens.

13.  Good of the Order: (a) Bear Hudson present an award to Commander Oden for recruiting 8 new/reinstated members to help the Post achieve 100% membership by midterm C of A. (b) Comrade Wayne Harrison won the raffle of 900 Baht, and donated back into the post’s general fund.

14.  CDR Oden closed the meeting at 11:59 IAW with the VFW ritual. The next regular meeting of C.L. Elms Post 9951 will be at 11:00 on 09 January, 2010 in the JUSMAGTHAI conference room.
