1.      JVC Key ope ned a C. L. Elms Post 9951 regular meeting IAW the VFW ritual at 11:19 on 08 May, 2010 in the Conference Room of JUSMAGTHAI located at 7 South Sathorn Road in Bangkok, Thailand.

2.      There was a roll call of officers and all were present or properly excused except for Surgeon Brose’, Trustee 1 Year Dyste, and Officer of the Day Picha. There were 14 members attending.

3.      There was no application for Membership to our Post.

4.      Adj Haugh read the minutes of the last meeting to those in attendance. Chap Owens made a motion to approve the minutes, subject to correction, and QM Neutzler seconded it. The motion carried.

5.      Quartermaster Neutzler was unable to give the QM Report for the period 1 through 30 April, 2010. QM Neutzler explain current records are with Cmdr Oden and QM Neutzler will report both April and May report at next meeting. 

6.      There were no bills presented for collection.

7.      Service Officer Harrison report no changes and reported the DPA Convention book is looking bad with low amount of advertising, only 20 of need 60 as of today.

8.      Comrades in distress: None to report of as today as Comrade Tom continues to recover well.

9.      Committee reports are (a) Membership: No information available at this time (b) Bingo: None at this time. (c) Buddy Poppies: None at this time. (d) POW/MIA: Comrade Picha absent / no report at this time. (e) Community Activities: JVC Keys reports – 9 projects, 591 hours, and 16 volunteers. JVC Keys reports 10 members (12 guests) for the total of 22 were present for ANZAC Day for a fun and successful trip, Post Chap Owens as JVC of District V presided over the wreath laying at the American monument site at the River Bridge Kwai. f) Independence Day: Chairman Rose reported no changes and next meeting will be held at KIS school grounds on the last Friday of the month. (g) DPA Convention: Chairman Brazee reported as follows: Not so bad stuff – 55 registered members, need help from a comrade to take lead in t-shirts and towel (souvenirs), need a comrade to pick up National member Nick Nelson on 18 June from Delta airlines at 11:20pm, Kudos to Comrade Al Serrato for his help with the DPA Convention. Not so good stuff – DoD is currently not allowing its people to travel to Thailand under the current political situation (non essential personal to travel) thus 20 of the 55 registered members are DoD – could change with the “Red Shirts” withdrawal, hotel obligation can be dropped at no cost if Convention is a “No-Go”, Chairman Brazee “gut feeling” was asked about by QM Neutzler – reply was “not happening” discussion was wide amongst comrades: with doom and gloom in the air Comrade Rose stated stay the course and “stay prepared and positive to produce the best we can…keep positive”, people are booking at the Karnmanee Palace between 7-11 nights, Convention book printing deadline should be later – Comrade Gale was not present to comment, finally – all agreed to hold decisions until next week after DPA meeting Chairman Brazee expressed another week will not cost any Baht.

10.  Remembrance of our National Home was at 12:01.

11.  Old Business: (a) Post looking for delegate for District meeting on 15 May 2010 at Chang Mai and DPA Convention in June, statements was made by Adj Haugh and Comrade Brazee that Adj Haugh could be the Primary delegate and Comrade Brazee could be the Alternate delegate.  Motion made by QM Neutzler and seconded by Chap Owens.

12.  New Business: (a) Comrade to be made aware that Memorial Day events such as: the Protestant Cemetery ceremonies and US Embassy ceremonies will be posted via e-mail by Cmdr Oden. 

13.  Good of the Order: (a) Comrade Harrison won the raffle of 700 Baht cash. (b) Chap Owens elicited number of members who are willing to participate in: Bowling for Charity – 5 raised their hands, and Golfing for Charity – 4 raised their hands added comments included this is an opportunity to build comradeship  and Trustee 2 Year Harrison brought up additional charity opportunity for those who cannot attend or participate could also pledge “side bets”.

14.  JVC Key closed the meeting at 12:20 IAW with the VFW ritual. The next regular meeting of C.L. Elms Post 9951 will be at 11:00 on 12 June, 2010 in the JUSMAGTHAI conference room.
